Here is the first trailer for the animated version of DC’s The Dark Knight Returns. This is by far the most celebrated story arcs in DC’s history. Frank Miller did an extraordinary job with the comic. It deals with Bruce Wayne no longer being Batman for 10 years and what happens to Gotham in his absence. He is a much older man and not as quick and powerful as he once was. After Gotham City is overtaken by a gang who call themselves The Mutants, Bruce is once again forced to put on the suit and become the Dark Knight one more time. With Commissioner Gordon retiring and the city under siege the stakes have never been higher for both Bruce Wayne and The Batman.
If you haven’t read the original comic do yourself a favor and pick it up. Along with Watchmen it is considered one of the largest factors in the turning point of comics from campy nonsens (which we still love) to serious stories that have help drive comics into the mainstream, especially in the movie industry.
