Marvel panel recap!

Today we stood in line for 10 hours to see what Paramount, Warner Bros, and of course Marvel Studios had to offer us this year in movie news. Unfortunately, at the end of the day we missed out on Paramount and Warner Bros due to the massive lines and our refusal to sleep outside the night before just to get a glimpse at footage of Henry Cavill without a shirt. Sadly, we missed Pacific Rim, Godzilla, The Hobbit, and The Man of Steel. However, we did get to the last panel of the day: Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3. Was it worth the wait? Yes! What we were treated to was a nothing shy of awesome. Let’s go through the big announcements! First up, Thor 2…no surprise that we get this movie in 2013. However, it seems that Marvel is going with subtitles for their future movie sequels (sans Iron Man). Check out the official image below.

Kevin Feige then brings out the one and only Edgar Wright to talk about his work on Ant-Man. We are then treated to a test reel that he shot. I will just say this, the perspective shooting is some of the best I’ve seen in a while. Really impressive stuff. No cast, crew, or date announced yet, however, my guess is 2015 right before we get The Avengers 2.

Last, but certainly not least, Iron Man 3, which we get in theaters next May. In classic Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr. fashion, our star is introduced by loud blaring Luthor Vandross music and dances his way through the crowd then on to the stage. Its was hilarious, over the top, and awesome. Downey wore an Iron Man glove with light repulsor the entire time. We were then treated to a extended trailer for Iron Man 3 and frankly it looks fantastic. The stakes have definitely been raised. Ben Kingsley has been confirmed without a doubt as The Mandarin. We even get to the see him wearing the 10 rings!San Diego Comic Con Marvel panel recap!

So there you have it. Marvel dropping some serious news as we start Phase 2 of Marvel Studios’ projects. Stay tuned for more information as we get!
