Deadpool is on a killing spree and the worlds superheroes and super villains are his targets. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe is a weekly comic being produced by Marvel that pits the Merc with a Mouth against the likes of the Fantastic Four, Spiderman, the Avengers, and more. Currently they are on issue #2 with issue #3 coming out on Wednesday, August 15th.
Deadpool has of course always been a sarcastic and jocular character. Wade Wilson as Deadpool has delivered us hours of entertaining banter in the regular series. You could always tell that Wilson was not all there, but he never took enjoyment from the killing he had to do. This miniseries explores what would happen if his kinda crazy went ape shit on every superhero in the known Marvel universe without remorse.
Following admittance to a psychiatric ward after being dropped off by Professor X and the X-Men, a switch is flipped in our favorite psychopath. Instead of our fourth wall breaking compadre of killing, we are left with a dark mercenary on a mission. Currently, we do not know the details of that mission, but it is beginning to unfold. Issue #3 allows Deadpool to take his revenge on the X-men.
I have been fairly impressed with the artwork, and I look forward to the upcoming issues. With the blood and gore in this one it is definitely not for kids. As a weekly read, this is a great piece of fluff. If you like Deadpool and the idea of him taking on other heroes, then pick this one up.
