Comicbookmovie.com is reporting an interesting comment from Mark Waid, writer of the current comic book run of Daredevil. Waid was asked about the future of the character in the TV/movie medium. Here is what he had to say:
I’d love to see it as a TV series rather than a movie if given the choice — I think it’s tailor-made for an adult crime show, particularly now that we’ve clearly defined Matt and Foggy’s legal practice as advisers and coaches to those who choose to represent themselves in court for whatever reason. Get Central Casting on the line and find me a David Duchovny who can fight like Jet Li!
We have to talked about this many times, and specifically on the latest episode of The Nerdpocalypse podcast. Daredevil going back to Marvel doesn’t leave much room for it to hit the big screen in the near future, but television presents a whole new easily accessible medium to jump in to. Marvel is already planning on some TV shows, so why not put Matt Murdoch on a FX, AMC, or if possible HBO and really do the property justice. If at a later time they wanted to move the characters on to the big screen it could easily be done with an already built in fan base.
