Glenn Close joins the cast of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Glenn Close

I can’t believe I just wrote the title to this article. We normally don’t do post about general casting news here as I rarely find it worth wild. However, this time is different. As you probably already know Marvel is gearing up to release Guardians of the Galaxy in summer of 2014. A bizarre rag tag group of cosmic characters from a big green warrior to a talking raccoon, this movie is the most comicbook-esque thing Marvel has attempted to date.

The news of 6 time Oscar nominated actress Glenn Close’s involvement is so surreal and amazing at the same time. Close is said to be heading the Nova Corps in the film, a group of intergalactic police officers. There was a pretty substantial rumor about the Nova Corps involvement, so this confirms it. I would love to think that she will basically play her character from Damages. A hard nosed take no shit woman with years of experience under her belt. Ultimately, this proves yet again the legitimacy of the Marvel movies in Hollywood. Close joins Robert Redford (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World) as another serious actor stepping into the crazy world of comic book movies. Let us know what you think in the comments.
