Jay sits down to discuss his review of the newly released ‘Marshall’ starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, and Sterling K. Brown. The film chronicles a little-known case of Thurgood Marshall (Boseman) in which he is tasked to prove the innocence of Joseph Spell (Brown) who is accused of attacking and raping a white woman he works for during the height of the Civil Rights movement. Marshall is forced to join up with local Jewish attorney Sam Friedman (Gad) to prove that this case is far more complex than anyone truly believes.
The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin, and takes a sharp look at not only the era in question but one of its greatest heroes from a perspective not yet explored.
Sterling K. Brown
Budget: $12 Million
