Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox first trailer

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox first trailer

While WB/DC can’t get a hold on the live action comic book movie money train yet, they have no competition in the animated world. Here is another popular DC comics story, Flashpoint, brought to animated life. Starring The Flash as he uses his speed to time travel back and right some wrongs and stop villains from destroying everything…seems pretty par for the course in the superhero world.

There is no question that in the arena of animated feature films Marvel is getting its ass handed to them by Warners Bros/DC. In recent years DC has released a slew of highly successful films that have covered not only their main comic lines but alternative stories as well. Marvel has however dominated the live action comic book movie world and they seem finally poised to take on DC in a big way; enter Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore.

Marvel Knights Animation is taking on The Inhumans!

Marvel Knights Animation is taking on The Inhumans!

A while back there was a rumor that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was going to do an Inhumans movie, however that didn’t happen. Marvel decided to go with the other band of weirdos that is The Guardians of the Galaxy. However, it looks like we will get that Inhumans movie but in animated form. The group of seriously odd characters from Attilian are not easy to pull off on the big or small screen, so this is probably the best option.

First trailer for The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1

First trailer for The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1

Here is the first trailer for the animated version of DC’s The Dark Knight Returns. This is by far the most celebrated story arcs in DC’s history. Frank Miller did an extraordinary job with the comic. It deals with Bruce Wayne no longer being Batman for 10 years and what happens to Gotham in his absence. He is a much older man and not as quick and powerful as he once was. After Gotham City is overtaken by a gang who call themselves The Mutants, Bruce is once again forced to put on the suit and become the Dark Knight one more time. With Commissioner Gordon retiring and the city under siege the stakes have never been higher for both Bruce Wayne and The Batman.

Batman: Year One preview clip

Continuing with their absolutely stellar record of animated films. DC keeps it coming with a look at Batman in his infancy. Its looks cool, and I am always up for new Batman news, whether live action or animated. Its too bad Kevin Conroy isn’t doing the voice work for the Dark Knight, but I digress. Keep ‘em coming DC. The fact that they are going back and animating classics like this one gives me hope of seeing The Dark Knight Returns or The Killing Joke.
