This week on The Nerdpocalypse podcast the guys discuss old school online chat rooms, programmable vodka bottles, GamesCon, balloon fetishes, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Daredevil, Nemisis, and Lars von Trier’s Nymphomanic. Micah also gives his review of Expendables 2 and much more!

With the massive success of The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises comic book movies are the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. For this reason movie studios are very likely to put more effort into the genre films now that they see the massive potential.

It has been known for some time that Marvel has wanted to expand its ever growing popularity into television. With the massive success of The Avengers there is no wonder that they are now planning a television show set in that universe, and for the record this isn’t the Hulk TV show with Guillermo del Toro. I for one am not too excited about a Hulk TV show, for me it seems like they are just trying to re-ignite the popularity of the past show. However, I’m not so sure it will work with the level of expectation from fans after seeing The Avengers on the big screen. The cost for SFX would easily destroy the budget of the show, or worst yet having a Hulk TV show with little to no Hulk. I don’t think fans are ready to go from CGI mo-cap Hulk to a bodybuilder painted green. So this begs the question, who do you have star in a your Marvel TV show without breaking your budget or watering down your heroes?

In this week’s episode of The Nerdpocalypse podcast the guys talk creepy urns that should NOT exist, 007 Legends, pole dancing in the Olympics, censoring upcoming movies, why The CW is one of the worst channels on television right now, and much more.
Tom Rothman, Fox CEO, has been in the news a lot lately. From Cinema Con he has made some statements about a New Mutants movie and as of late he has something to say about some other Marvel properties. With Fox owning movie rights to Daredevil and Fantastic Four, it looks like both properties are making further progress on their upcoming reboots. So check out the rather spastic conversation about who might come on to develop Fantastic Four. What do you think about his choice?
