The Father of the Shaky cam: Someone get this man a TRIPOD!
I know I am going to catch some flack for this one, but I truly take issue with the films of Ridley Scott. Scott has directed highly acclaimed films such as Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, Alien, and Blade Runner. These films are considered “classics” and some in my mind are. However, I take issue with Gladiator. I would argue that the shaky-cam gained extreme popularity with Gladiator and the ripples of its influence are still being felt by action films today.

My question is, why does Scott feel the need to film certain scenes as though he has handed the camera over to a 4 year old?
