Review: Taken 2

Review: Taken 2

In 2008 Liam Nesson refashioned himself as an action star. After years of playing serious dramatic roles, Nesson kicked some serious ass on the big screen. While not highly acclaimed, Taken was a fan favorite and gathered quite a following. With its cult like success there was no surprise that Taken 2 would quickly be in the works. However, the story of Taken wrapped up so nicely that it seemed unnecessary to have a sequel. Well sadly, that’s not how the movie industry works. So in 2012, Liam Nesson once again portrays the role of retired intelligence agent, Bryan Mills.

New trailer for Taken 2

New trailer for Taken 2

Here is the all new trailer for Taken 2: The Tookening…ok that’s not the title, but it is the follow to the 2008 international kidnapping thriller starring Liam Nesson. The last time we saw Nesson’s character, Bryan Mills, he had just gone on an all out killing spree to save his daughter who was taken while vacationing in Europe. The movie was a real surprise for me, as I never thought of Nesson as an primary action hero. At that point, I only saw him as a trainer of future badasses (Batman Begins and The Phantom Menace).

New trailer for Battleship

I can’t believe they were able to make such a rip off of a Micheal Bay movie without being sued. They could have just called it Transformers 4: Water Battles. Why in the hell is Liam Nesson even in this? I like mindless action from time to time but man, this looks awful. Once again, this is what is passing for American action movies these days. Look for Battleship coming to theaters May 2012. Final note, I will bet any amount of money that the line, “you sunk my battleship” is used. Spoiler Alert this will suck. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think.
