Top Five Ways the Villains Win

Top Five Ways the Villains Win

While I lack the title that is usually bestowed upon someone for completing a long, arduous term of study on a subject (Dr. of Psychology, Professor of Literature, King of the Lollipop Guild, etc.) I, nonetheless, consider myself a specialist in certain fields. Primarily those fields consist of dangerous chemicals, and the legwork done to become a ‘specialist’ mostly consists of abusing them to dull the bitter edge of my own empty, shallow, perverse existence…

Marvel Knights Animation is taking on The Inhumans!

Marvel Knights Animation is taking on The Inhumans!

A while back there was a rumor that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was going to do an Inhumans movie, however that didn’t happen. Marvel decided to go with the other band of weirdos that is The Guardians of the Galaxy. However, it looks like we will get that Inhumans movie but in animated form. The group of seriously odd characters from Attilian are not easy to pull off on the big or small screen, so this is probably the best option.

Review: Alex Cross

Review: Alex Cross

Once again we are thrust into the world of Alex Cross, which is a series of novels written by author James Patterson. In the two previous movies god himself Morgan Freeman played the beloved character. This time around we get Tyler Perry as the title character. If this sounds like something you’re going to enjoy, you probably will. For the rest of you, it is what it is. What it is, is not good movie by any stretch of the imagination.

So Bad its Good – Trailer for Birdemic 2: The Ressurection

So Bad its Good Trailer for Birdemic 2: The Ressurection

There isn’t much to say about the first Birdemic movie that hasn’t already been said. In short, its horrible and should have never been made. However, it became a cult classic. With terrible acting, writing, and directing you really have to just laugh at how bad it is. Nowadays, people just take the movie as a joke and some even think the director was just trolling us all when he made. From the descriptions of behind the scenes moments from some of the actors in the first movie I’m now sure that it is genuinely that bad.

A Second Opinion: Total Recall Review

A Second Opinion: Total Recall Review

This is the second review of Total Recall by Terrence. You can read Micah’s review here

When one thinks of Total Recall, you’re first thought is the 1990 Schwarzenegger cult classic. What we have here is another remake that didn’t seem necessary. What was a campy action movie with charm turns into a banal run of the mill action laden snore fest.

We are introduced to a world at the end of the 21st century that has been ravaged by chemical warfare. The inhabited world is now divided into two land masses. The opulent United federation of Britain (UFB) and the Colony located on Australia which for some reason looks like China. These two land masses are connected by a transporter called The Fall. A giant elevator that goes through the core of the earth. The Science in this completely escapes me.

Christopher Eccleston will play Malekith in Thor: The Dark World

Christopher Eccleston will play Malekith in Thor: The Dark WorldWhen the full title for Thor 2 was announced at San Diego Comic Con in July there was a slight clue as to where the Asgardian would be going on his next adventure. That clue has now been completely flushed out of the darkness so to speak. Thor: The Dark World will take our hero to Svartalfheim, the home of the dark elves. It was announced some time ago that Mads Mikkelsen was to play the villain. However, due to a scheduling conflict he was forced to drop out. Now we are getting reports that Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) will be taking over for Mikkelson, and now we know for sure what role he will be playing. It seems Marvel is ready to introduce the villain Malekith the Accursed who is the leader of the dark elves and all around bad guy and pain in Thor’s ass.

Review: Ted

Review: Ted

If Ted is all about growing up and becoming an adult, I think it might be its own worst enemy. Ted is the story of John Bennett (Mark Walberg) and his magical teddy bear, named aptly Ted, that comes to life when he is a child. The two live in a perpetual cycle of bong hits and liquor shots. Its the college man and bear’s dream.

When John and Ted’s relationship seems to stand in the way of the adult relationship John has with his girlfriend, Lori (Mila Kunis) conflict begins.

Michael Fassbender will star in Assassin’s Creed!

Michael Fassbender will star in Assassins Creed!

Wait what? Yeah that’s right. Variety is reporting that Fassbender has decided to wear the bad ass white assassin’s cloak and travel through the animus and star in Assassin’s Creed. With a video game adaptation I would never expect to hear such a rising star like Fassbender attached to this. However, his record so far has been pretty solid, from Magneto to sex addict, Fassbender can do it all.

Solo Venom movie, this makes no sense

Solo Venom movie, this makes no sense

A Venom movie…

With the unprecedented success of Marvel’s big comic book team up movie, The Avengers, its no wonder other studios are clamoring to make the same movie magic happen for them. We have heard many reports that Warner Brothers/DC will be pushing up production for a Justice League movie (and solo hero movies to lead in) and now Sony seems to want to build out the Spider-Man universe. Here is what Avi Arad had to say:

“What I’m trying to say to you without giving anything away is hopefully all these worlds will live together in peace someday.

Django Unchained gets its first trailer!

Django Unchained gets its first trailer!

Here is the first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Frankly, this is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. In my humble opinion, Tarantino has not made a bad film yet, and it looks like he has no plans to break that mold with Django. Jamie Foxx is an interesting choice for the lead and Leonardo DiCaprio for the villain is inspiring. It seems he is really enjoying being the heel this go around. Rounding out the cast is Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Kerry Washington. I really enjoy the fact that after Tarantino has tackled the revenge stories of women and Jews that now black folks get their turn at bat. Definitely looking forward to this. Check out the trailer below. Django Unchained hits theaters on Christmas Day.
