Marc Webb teases new look for The Amazing Spider Man sequel

Director Marc Webb has been using twitter as his go to standard for dropping little nuggets of information as the filming of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 progresses. We have seen possible nods to Venom and character deaths. All these little bits of info make for some serious speculation online and frankly its a blast! So here is the latest from Webb.

Sony possibly gearing up for The Sinister Six!

Sony has been obviously all over the news lately with their reboot of the hugely popular Spider-Man movie series. However, with the seemingly guaranteed success of the reboot comes a battery of questions as to what happens next. Sony seems to be shaping up to match Marvel’s connected movie universe with its own expanded Spidey centric universe. Previously, there was news that Avi Arad was pushing for a solo Venom movie. You can read about my opinions on that here. Now during an interview with SuperHeroHype.com, Arad made some interesting statements about other characters in the Spider-Man universe that might make for some intriguing moments going forward.

Solo Venom movie, this makes no sense

A Venom movie…

With the unprecedented success of Marvel’s big comic book team up movie, The Avengers, its no wonder other studios are clamoring to make the same movie magic happen for them. We have heard many reports that Warner Brothers/DC will be pushing up production for a Justice League movie (and solo hero movies to lead in) and now Sony seems to want to build out the Spider-Man universe. Here is what Avi Arad had to say:

“What I’m trying to say to you without giving anything away is hopefully all these worlds will live together in peace someday.

My final plea for The Amazing Spider-Man

My final plea for The Amazing Spider ManWhen the initial news hit the internet that Sony would no long keep the money train going with Sam Raimi but instead reboot the Spider-Man movie series fan boys went ballistic! If we were in Victorian times I pretty sure they would rolled out the guillotine at the time. As time went on and a director and star were chosen the madness escalated and it appeared that fans had forgotten about the flaws of the Raimi films. Were we so clouded by our sheer hatred for change that we couldn’t even give these new guys a chance? “Its to soon,” was the battle cry of the anti-Spidey-reboot brigade. However, at the same time they enjoyed in mass the reboot of Batman by Christopher Nolan. Why wasn’t it too soon for that franchise to get a reboot? The difference between reboot time frames was only 3 years, surely not enough for the internet fan boys to lose their collective minds over, right?
