Introducing The Leap…shut up and take my money

Introducing The Leap...shut up and take my moneyTake the leap…ok that was a terrible introduction, I know. Anyway, check out this new product video for The Leap. A very promising device for your Mac that allows for some motion capture capabilities. This is very reminiscent of the Microsoft Kinect. I’m not so sure I would be ready to through away my keyboard and mouse, but this would be cool for some applications and specific games. Let us know what you think in the comments.

I am hardly a fashionista, but I love technology

My wardrobe rarely consists of anything above pants + shirt, but some others out there go pretty far out to look good. I can respect this behavior. Even better than that I can respect bringing technology to the forefront when it comes to just about anything. In this case, augmented reality meets window shopping. Check out the video:

Hipster glasses get creepy

So a company by the name of ZionEyez has developed a pair seemingly normal hipster glasses that are pretty popular these days. However, there is one catch, they can record 720p HD video. While I think the idea/technology behind this is very cool, my “creep show” alarm is sounding very loudly. Who would actually use these? Maybe people who want to do guerrilla journalism might want some, but the main audience here is techies and general creepy dudes. Let me emphasize creepy dudes. However, its Kickstarter page received more than $350,000 dollars from potential investors, so somebody is on board with this idea. They can’t all be creeps, right?

The future of phones is here!

My guess is, we will see this tech in future phones. Minus the ridiculous size of the camera on your shoulder (pirate-parrot style) this could definitely be a cool on the go projector. Imagine a situation where you can project videos or presentations on your hand to show friends. How about hipster glasses that have depth cameras built in to do projections on the wall of your office instead of using a monitor? The possibilities are endless and equally as ridiculous! We are not far from the idea of 3D projector-able images on our watches a la The Jetsons. How amazing would that be? I am sure the level of car accidents would skyrocket…totally worth it.
