The Most Dangerous Game is a short story by Richard Connell. It was published in Collier’s Weekly in January of 1924. The story is that of a big game hunter from New York, Sanger Rainsford who falls from his boat in the middle of the night and ends up on Ship-Trap Island. The Island is inhabited by two Cossacks, General Zaroff and his deaf-mute servant Ivan. Rainsford soon finds out that Zaroff, also a hunter, is bored with the traditional game and has taken to hunting humans. The two enter a battle of wits and survival as Zaroff seeks to hunt down and kill Rainsford. It is a great short story!
