"Have you heard, this new movie, the Batman movie -- what is it, the Dark Knight Lights Up or something? Whatever the name of it is. That's right, Dark Knight Rises, Lights Up, same thing. Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in the Dark Knight Rises is named Bane. B-A-N-E. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran, and around which there's now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date's been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental, that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed, whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane? ... Anyway, so this evil villain in the new Batman movie is named Bane. And there's now discussion out there as to whether or not this was purposeful, and whether or not it will influence voters. It's going to have a lot of people. This movie, the audience is going to be huge, lot of people are going to see the movie. And it's a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd. And they're going to hear 'Bane' in the movie, and they are going to associate Bain. And the thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, not Bain Capital, but Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie -- 'Oh yeah, I know who that is.' There are some people who think it will work. There are some people think it will work. Others think -- 'You're really underestimating the American people who think that will work.'”
Now I don’t write about politics or even get into it on this site or our show, I save that for my other podcast. However, this topic crosses two things I love the most: movies and politics. If you are a Rush Limbaugh fan I would advise you to stop reading this right now, your glorious dittohead leader is about to be trashed on this blog.
I was going to go into how this was silly because the character was created in 1993 and the movie, The Dark Knight Rises was written in 2008. However, clearly logic can’t penetrate that thick bulbous skull that sits akimbo on Ole Rushbo’s shoulders. So why not break it down in terms he can understand. I promise not to use too many big words for the dittoheads out there.
In 2005 BEGINS the senatorial duties of one Barack Obama, maybe you have heard of him. He had a pretty decent career as a senator but quickly decided he needed to do more, so he ran for President and won. Fast forward: In 2010 a force of pure insanity came to Washington and tried to destroy everything. This force didn’t have any real reasons, it just wanted to “watch the world burn.” After months of battling this force, lets call them the Joker's Tea Party, died down and became just a joke. However our hero was wounded by them severely. It was if they were destined to do this forever. Once the Joker's Tea Party was defeated our hero had to take the blame for their shenanigans. He was quoted once as saying “Because that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes...the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.” When asked by the media what she thought of Obama taking the heat for the Tea Parties tricks, Hillary Clinton said “...[he needs to be a] silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.” Strange quote, but whatever! So fast forward to today, Barack is back and he has to take on Bane (Mitt Romney) in the 2012 election to truly RISE to the occasion...
Ok I’m going to stop right there. I can’t do this anymore. This whole thing is so damn stupid. Is Rush Limbaugh really under the illusion that Christopher Nolan planned this? Look, I know Nolan pulled off Inception but the man can’t predict the future! If you read the words that Rush said and thought...genius, than you are a moron. He is a liar and a snake oil salesman at best. The level of misinformation that he puts out is unprecedented. Rush Limbaugh is a moron! Breaking news, I know, but more importantly he gets people to believe just about anything. If there is one thing that we here at The Nerdpocalypse believe its this: You don’t fuck with The Batman...period. You can say whatever you want about anything else, but you don’t trash Batman. I’m not talking about Nolan’s Batman...I’m talking Batman in general. If you don't know who Bane is or anything about that world, just shut it! So to Rush Limbaugh I say, “Shut your mouth you mewling quim!”
