Black Ops 2 Beginners Guide from a non N00b Girl Gamer

One of the highest selling games of all times happens to be Black Ops 2, with over 30 million individual players throwing down every day on both Xbox Live and the PSN network. If you happen to be an n00b, the game can look quite intimidating, but once you get your hands dirty playing around with it, it can be quite easy to pick up and jump into a match and start p0wning people. I’ve spent a lot of my own free time on Xbox live and I’m here to let you know what options you have and which ones I personally use and prefer. I’ll give you more time killing and less time trying to figure out what you and which will reduce your time reloading and re-spawning.

PS4 Announcement Talk Big, Show Little

If you were one of the precious few able to view Sony’s presentation through the fits and starts of an over-labored interwebs server, you were witness to the birth of a machine designed for the here and now, delivered by a group of men who can barely read a teleprompter.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game is Coming

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game is ComingI don’t play a lot of games nor am I a parent. That being said, I LOVE the LEGO games. From Star Wars to Indiana Jones I have played them all. There is something about endless continues and grumbling LEGO characters that makes these games so damn appealing. The amount of solid comedic writing and game play lends to its crossover success. So this morning it has been announced that Marvel is teaming up with LEGO to enter the new sub genre of kid/man-child games:

Video Games: Back to the Future GTA Mod

Ok, this would normally be a story more for Micah, because I have, in fact, never played Grand Theft Auto or GTA as the young people call it. I am aware there is more than one GTA game in the series, but that is not the point of this article. The point of this little post is to show you what I think is the most amazing modification of GTA EVER!

Marvel announces Deadpool game.

Friday on our way to the San Diego Convention Center we notice a giant ad for The Amazing Spider-Man video game. Pretty cool but nothing we haven’t seen before. Today, that same advertisement was spray painted with Deadpool’s logo over it. This is some pretty cool marketing for the newly announced Deadpool game.

The Evolution Should Be Televised

Names like Justin Wong, Filipino Champ, Combofiend and ChrisG mean nothing to most people. But to a growing community of fighting game enthusiasts, these guys are known as the best of the best. Maestros of the arcade stick if you will. They are truly masters of execution. Watching them do what they do is not only fun to watch it’s also extremely impressive.

Review: Spec Ops: The Line

Review: Spec Ops: The Line

Inspired by Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, Spec Ops: The Line is a third person military themed shooter whose story and character development outweigh its very generic gameplay. A massive sand storm has ravaged Dubai and U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad and his battalion volunteered to aid in the evacuation. The three man Delta Squad, lead by Captain Martin Walker, are sent to Dubai to investigate after they receive a distress signal from Konrad. The story in Spec Ops starts slowly focusing on developing the three members of Delta and setting up the plot. Then things start to spiral out of control as you watch these characters deal with the horrors of war and the consequences of their actions. This focus on a mature, grown up story is a breath of fresh air for this type of game. There is no global threat that only one super soldier can resolve, nor is there a clear binary moral dilemma. There are only difficult decisions that you are forced to make while trying to maintain your humanity.

Amazing Spider-Man Game Review

Amazing Spider Man Game Review

With a new Amazing Spider-Man movie we get a new Amazing Spider-Man game. Now this automatically sounds like a terrible idea because movie tie in games NEVER work but there is always an exception to the rule. While I can’t really call this a great game it does what games are supposed to do above all else and that’s being fun to play.

The Amazing Spider-Man picks up where the movie leaves off so if you plan on seeing the movie I would do that first before diving into the game. When the game starts you are treated to a spoilerific lengthy cut scene preparing you for the adventure ahead. Bad Things happen and it’s up to Spider-Man to fix it. The Story ends up being good but eventually forgettable.
